Is textile bioplastics recycling realistic at scale? MoeBIOS wants that question answered by the people who work with these materials every day, not just in a lab. Textile waste streams increasingly include bioplastic fibres and blends. However, the recycling routes for them are still being worked out in practice.
MoeBIOS is an EU-funded project. It advances knowledge and technologies for sorting, conditioning and valorising bioplastics waste streams. The project covers three industries: packaging, agriculture and textiles. Within this work, MoeBIOS is now turning to textile operators directly for input on which solutions are worth pursuing.
Why Textile Bioplastics Recycling Needs Operator Input
Lab results only tell part of the story. What works in controlled conditions doesn’t always hold up against real-world sorting, contamination and mixed-fibre blends. So, MoeBIOS wants to close that gap by asking operators directly. What’s missing? What would make textile bioplastics recycling realistic for your operations?
What MoeBIOS Is Testing
During the session, MoeBIOS will present the recycling solutions it is currently developing for textile applications. Then, participants will give direct feedback on suitability, viability and usefulness for their operations. The session uses interactive polling to capture this input live.
How to Register
The textiles session takes place on 14 October 2026. Meanwhile, dedicated sessions for agriculture and packaging operators run separately on the same day. Each session uses MS Teams, so participants should join the slot that matches their sector.
